Tonight
We are at my parents house, and Paxton went to bed tonight and woke up 45 minutes later. I let him cry for a little bit and then I went in to rock him. He did NOT want to go back to sleep so he was pulling out every cute little trick he had for me. As I was holding him with his head laying against my chest he pulled back and started smiling and clapping at me. I had to look away from him to try not to laugh and try not to let him see me smile. He then proceeded to make his deep voice noises, point at things, breathe in and out funny, shake his head from side to side, say wow, etc. He was trying it all. I finally gave up and just put him back to bed and he cried that time for like 2 min. I am hoping he is asleep now after that funny 1 hour long fiasco. Even though it was slightly annoying that he was up when he should have been sleeping, I am glad that tonight happened. I couldn't be mad about the situation because it was too dang cute. I love that boy so much.

Paxton and I went to the park today because it was a gorgeous 65ish degree day. He loved swinging, standing on the slides, sliding, and especially eating the wood. That is what ended our park outing--too much wood going in the mouth and I was sick of digging it out and gagging him accidentally as I was fishing around for straggling wood pieces.

Now this picture I absolutely love. You may not know that Paxton's whole life (besides the newborn stage) he has only been able to fall asleep in his crib and his car seat. That can be great at times and not so great sometimes too. I never get to cuddle with him because he won't fall asleep on me, and if he is awake he NEVER stops moving, not even while nursing. The past 4 days it has all changed. He has been falling asleep on me every night and just laying there. It may not seem like a big deal to others, but I love it. He turns 10 months old on Sunday. It is bittersweet. It is sad seeing him grow up, but it is amazing.
Right now he:
-loves to crawl around and be chased...he thinks it is hilarious and it is his favorite thing.
-sleeps through the night! woo hoo! he started at 9 months (with a couple "slip-ups" since then)
-has thrush...so annoying. He has had it since December on and off and we are almost rid of it.
-loves when Todd gets home. He gets so excited.
-has taken steps on his own (tonight he took 3 in a row).
-eats whatever we are eating and screams until he gets it.
-loves baths. The other day I took his clothes off in the office and he crawled into the bathroom because he knew what was coming.
-lets us know when he is done with a bath by trying to climb out.
-can't sleep without a burp rag--it has been that way his whole life. When he gets tired, he takes a corner of it with his thumb and index finger and tries to put a lot of it in his mouth and then he chews/sucks on it to calm himself down. He does not use a pacifier.
-says "wow". It's really funny, he mostly likes to do it in a whisper voice.
-has been clapping and waving since about 9 months.
-has had the stairs mastered for a couple of weeks now. He thinks it is hilarious to go over and start climbing them, looks at me, then goes faster and laughs as he goes up. I am trying to teach him it is not a game.
-can throw a good temper tantrum, head thrown on the ground and all. He also shakes his head to the side when he gets angry, his top half goes limp if I am holding him and he starts kicking his legs. I'm interested to see how bad it gets if he is not even 10 months yet and already doing it like this.
-has 6 teeth and possibly more coming. He just started doing this weird tongue thing and I think it might be because of teething. He also has been biting/grinding his teeth together and it gives me chills.
-has been giving kisses more willingly now instead of turning his head away in disgust.
-has started laughing when other people are laughing. He makes sure he is in on the joke.
-still takes 2 naps a day for now. The past 2 weeks we had a rough time with naps, but it's looking like it's returning to normal. I was hoping he wasn't trying to drop one yet because it's way too early for me.
