Pax photoshoot

I found a cool place to take pictures today. These were some I took of Pax. He doesn't like to smile for the camera, and is super cheesy when he does.

Pax turns 2

I can't believe Paxton is two years old. Time really does fly and before we know it he will be driving.

Oh wait he already is driving. He calls this his bus. (BTW I got this for free off of craigslist. Besides the peeling stickers it's in excellent condition and even came with a cell phone.)

He had a fun birthday day. He woke up and got chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Then we went to Funtastic (indoor play place) and made a stop for french fries on the way home. He topped it off with some presents and cards and ice cream treats last night. We had a party while my parents were here 2 weekends ago. I still need to blog about that.

Paxton is so fun. He is talking more and can tell me what is going on most of the time. He loves playing outside, loves cars, motorcycles, buses, boats, all transportation. He is so nice to Caleb when he pays attention to him which isn't often. But when he does he goes right up to his face and says "Hi babyyyyy" and gives him a kiss while saying muah!

He tries to count and we know he can count to 3. He knows his colors sometimes. It's hard to tell if he knows them or if he's a really good guesser. For awhile everything was yellow, but he surprises me by pointing to things and saying blue or red and being correct. He likes to dance and loves music and instruments. He also likes to sing (I need to post a video). He has a very bad temper when his toys fall over or don't do what he wants them to do. He then screams and yells and throws them across the room, slams doors, hits walls, etc. And no he has not learned this from anyone in our family haha, but Todd used to do the same thing when he was a little boy too. I'm hoping he quickly outgrows this. He loves to be chased and really is just happy the majority of the time.

I love him so much and I'm so glad he's in our family. He is the best little two year old I could ask for. I look forward to all of the years we still have together.

Playing together

I asked Paxton if he would show Caleb a toy so he got lots of little toys and laid down to play with him. This doesn't happen that often so I love how I got this picture of them together.

Pax "helped" me clean his stroller with water and got himself soaked so I just let him continue playing with water. These first two are too funny not to include. He was upset because he wanted me to sit by him.

Smiles

This guy has been giving real big smiles for the past couple of days. It's so fun to watch. He also has been cooing for a couple of weeks now. I need to get it on video.

Pics of Pax

Every time I take a picture of Pax I can't believe how big he is getting. He turns 2 in less than a month!

I think it's so funny when he puts his hands in his pockets. He does it because Todd does.

Advice

Anyone know how to get an almost 2 year old to stop screaming? He does a high pitch scream because he knows we don't like it and he thinks it's funny. It's getting really annoying. We have tried time outs, spanking (doesn't phase him), I will squeeze his leg (he cracked up because I guess he is ticklish), ignore him, pinch his foot (thinks it's ticklish)...he just laughs at anything we do and does it more. So if anyone has ideas I would appreciate them!

Window cleaners

My mom cleaned while she was out here when Caleb was born. Paxton was her helper. I loved having my mom here and she helped out so much. Not only did she clean, but she cooked delicious meals, took Paxton outside to jump in puddles for hours each day, made it possible for me to shower & nap, and was on baby duty at night when I just got too tired. I love her tons and am excited to see her in a couple weeks!

Caleb Eldin Black

I took these pictures this afternoon of little Caleb. For those who don't know, he was born on January 28th at 5:02 am and weighed 7 lbs 15 oz. He is a sweet little boy. The first three nights were pretty rough, but he is now doing great at night which makes me happy. Paxton has had a hard time adjusting as well. Today was a really good day though for him and I think he is finally getting used to having Caleb around.

We got family pictures taken before we had Caleb. I am putting a ton up because I like them all. I think Paxton is super cute in all of them.

Fun at the park

It has been in the 60's here this week so we have been taking advantage of our time outside. Pax loves going to play at the park and all I hear on the way is "mommy, mommy, play, play, play" until we get there.

Paxton's bike

Today was the first day that he started going faster on it (and he likes to call it a motorcycle). He normally lasts like 2 minutes on it, but today he rode for 15 min! I love watching him go around on it.
