Gangsters are after me...

...or maybe 5 year old girls; I am not sure which one. On Monday I went to tutor the seventh grade boy like I have been doing for the past 6 months. I didn't think that anything out of the ordinary would happen, however I was very wrong. I walked out of his house to see this:

I said, "Hey Danny will you ask the little kids if they know what happened to my car?" So he did and I didn't know that it was engraved into the car at that moment. However I realized it wasn't chalk a couple of seconds later. So I walked around my car and saw the rest - there is one long line going down each side of the car, and there is an obscenity on the back bumper. We are really happy though that the one on the back is not very deep:

I could not believe that someone would do this! The little girls said they didn't know who did it but I think it is them. I was so upset that this happened and I filed a police report because that's what my parents told me I should do. It didn't help that earlier that day our car got a boot on it because we didn't have a parking permit on our car. We didn't know that we needed one to park in our spot at the apartment. So we had to pay $25 for that as well. Let's just say it wasn't the greatest day for our car...

Weekend Activities

On Friday night Todd and I went on a whim to the Cheesecake Factory. We had a gift card, so we only ended up paying $2 in total! [Thanks Erika :)] This is a lady that we saw downtown and I just thought her dress was the best. I hope that I can get a world map dress someday. On the way home there was an accident so we had to wait for about 30 minutes until they opened up the road again. This picture is hard to see, but it is of where the accident was. There were a ton of ambulance, police, and firetrucks. We felt so old because it was the first time that we stayed out past 12 and we were way tired. But it was well worth it for the good food that we ate. On Saturday I studied in the morning and took my accounting test, then we went to the beach with our friends Nick & Alysha for a little bit. It was once again a beautiful day. Todd is still burned from our adventures on Monday so we didn't stay for that long. Then on Saturday night we went to the last basketball game of the season which we lost by 2 points in the last second of the game.
It was pretty depressing losing that game, especially because of a bad coaching move. Well that was our weekend! Stay posted for an interesting post coming soon...

3 day weekend

We had no school on Monday, and it was fabulous. We went with our friends Stephanie & Levi to Sandy's beach and Hanauma Bay. It was a gorgeous day with blue skies. There was a perfect amount of wind; enough to make it able for us to lie there without getting really hot. However, because of the wind we all got burned. Todd got attacked by a wave that hit him into a ton of rocks on the bottom of the ocean. He got scraped up on his back and on his elbow also.

Here is a palm tree at Hanauma Bay:None of us even snorkeled there; we just laid in the shade because we didn't want to get burned, so we will have to go back sometime to look at the fish. This is a picture of the lighthouse from far away. After the beach we were hungry so we grabbed some Jack in the Box then headed home. It was so much better than going to school! The weather here has been really nice since Monday. It is definitely getting hotter, and it is great for going to the beach. So everyone come visit us!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Today, February 19th, is my mom's birthday!
She is a WONDERFUL mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandma, and friend. She has such a great spirit about her. She is energetic and always happy. She is so proud of her daughters and loves us unconditionally. She is a supportive wife and a loving grandma. She is hilarious and loud! I would be an awful person if she wasn't such a big influence in my life. I wish I could have been there to celebrate with them today. I love you mom!

Happy Late Valentine's Day!

This Valentine's Day was very laid back. I have never really been into this holiday a crazy amount, and Todd and I are trying to save money, so we didn't buy presents for each other. We both gave each other cards that we made on the computer. We went to breakfast at Hukilau Cafe (it is cheap so we didn't spend much), went to school and work, and stayed home that night and watched Arrested Development. Then on Friday we went to the commissary, which is a grocery store on the military base, because they discount their Valentine's Day candy like crazy after the holidays! After Valentine's Day, Easter, Christmas...they have big bags of candy for $1.00 and less. So I stocked up on a lot of candy! On Saturday we went to Sunset Beach, and it was a perfect beach day. We stayed there for close to two hours. That night we went to Food Fest at our school, went to part of the basketball game, then had some friends over to watch a movie. It was a busy couple of days! We are loving the fact that we get Monday off. That's the update for now. I shall post again very soon.

GUM!

I have been and always will be obsessed with gum. I know it will never change.
This is my choice of gum (a lot of their flavors, not just this one). I had a never ending supply of gum when I lived at home that was made available to me through my mom. My mom, however, hates that I chew gum--only when I am getting pictures taken. I forget though that I have gum in my mouth. She gets upset (not creepy upset though) when she sees pictures with a little bit of my gum showing in the side of my mouth like this:
You can't really see it at all in this picture, but at least you get the point. Well on my wedding day this is what my mom fished out of my mouth:
She's cute :)

The Cape

For my wedding I rented a winter cloak to put over my dress for some pictures, and the main reason...so that I could be warmer (since it is pretty cold during December in Colorado). Well, this cloak caused many problems between Todd and I. He would make comments such as, "Maybe I should get a Superman cape and we can fly away together." I kept telling him I didn't care what he thought and I was going to wear it anyways. And it's not like I wanted to wear it the whole time! Of course I wanted a ton of pictures without it of my dress. What I really wanted out of him was for him to not think it was stupid. Well I never got to that point. I was off taking some pictures with the photographer, and start heading over towards where he was only to see a group of family around laughing. So I go over to see what is funny and I find this:
Here is Todd "flying away" with his cape. That little brat.

FYI

On Friday night I made the Apple upside down biscuit cake. Don't make it! It wasn't bad, but it's definitely not the greatest. I felt like something was missing. The cake part of it didn't have too much flavor, it kind of tasted like flour. The apples were good. It was not very cinnamony--I could have put more on but I was too lazy too. I have extra apples left over so I am looking for an apple crisp recipe (without oats), and I plan on making it tomorrow. If it is good I will let you know! Just don't waste your time on the other one...

Some wedding photos

Finally I got this post up...after about an hour of trying to upload pictures. I kept trying since I didn't have anything else to do. These first two pictures look like Todd and I just came out of the temple, but our photographer made us redo coming out once everyone left. I think the lighting was better then or something.
These are just some pictures of the temple on our wedding day that the photographer took while he was waiting for us to come out.

This is us down in the waiting room warming up for a little while. The skies were blue that day, but don't let it deceive you--it was not warm. The wind was blowing which made it way cold.

Stairs

Stairs are an essential way to get us up and down between different levels. They also give you exercise and shapely legs if you go up and down them a lot. And they could be dangerous if something like this happens to you. But did you know that they could also give you more space to store things?
Or be really confusing to get up and down? I would hate to have these in my house.
I think these are pretty cool looking. The only downside is if you have kids they would just fall right off. They would learn quick though...These ones are the coolest stairs I have ever seen! It reminds me of a cruise ship and I just think they are amazing.
These ones are called the endless stairway in Munich, Germany.
I posted today even though I have been SO busy. I can't believe all of the work my teachers are assigning...I think if I make it through this week I will be ok for a little bit.

Cool Website

If you want to see a very cool website go to HERE. It takes a little bit too load, but it's fun!

Random

I found this here and I really want it. I think it is pretty. The other thing that I want is not something I can buy, but this:
I have been wanting to make it for a week now! I just need to go buy more apples. It is called an Apple Upside-Down Biscuit Cake and you can find the recipe here. My blogging has been slowing down because I am so busy with school. I really am going to try hard to do better again!

Crazy Morning

On Friday Todd and I were leaving our house to walk to school, but we noticed it was raining so we decided to drive to school instead. As we were walking to the car we saw a man riding his bicycle with his daughter in front of him sitting on the bar before the handlebars. All of a sudden the bike stopped and the little girl (probably age 4-6) started screaming. We walked to where they were and the dad was holding her up because her foot was lodged between the bar and the spokes in the wheel.

She was screaming so much, with good reason, because the momentum and the weight of her dad were completely stopped by her little ankle. Todd started helping the man to get her ankle unstuck, but they weren't having much luck. They couldn't figure out how to get it out so Todd asked if he should just bend the spokes which would give them enough room. After about 4 minutes of trying and screaming from the girl they were able to get it out by bending the spokes. I felt awful for the little girl because it must have been so painful, but I felt even more awful for the father who must have felt terrible. We don't know if the girl's ankle was broken or not because we had to go to class. As we were leaving the dad was just sitting on the ground with the girl cuddling and holding her. I am glad that we were able to be there to help him at that time.
